Using the sun to heat our water and cook our food is a great idea. Thankfully it is really easy to accomplish with simple solar devices that you can build. We have included some of the best how to and do it yourself solar videos from Youtube.
In some countries, it is a necessity to use solar devices just to stay alive. There are many efforts by people to get inexpensive solar cookers in large quantities to people in countries that have no fuel for cooking.
Whether you live in the suburbs of a large city, or a desert town, solar power can give you free energy for many years.
How It Works: For passive solar cookers, temperatures can easily reach 400 degrees! They are made of common and easy to get materials, such as aluminum foil, cardboard, glass or plastic clear panels, etc.
The principle is very simple, you create a box (oven) where you can let the suns rays shine directly on the box, where it collects and the temperature increases.
Solar Cookers are very useful, and the first time you cook a loaf of bread, or a delicious soup, using the suns rays, you will be hooked!
